Study on Management of Public Lands in Wyoming
2015 The Wyoming Legislature passed Senate File 56, Study of Management of Public Lands, which directed the Office of State Lands and Investments to commission a study and provide a report examining the management of certain specified federally owned public lands in Wyoming. The legislature and this report did not address ownership transfer of these lands. The report focuses on public lands administered by the United States Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management. We also presented various management alternatives including the use of local and state level natural resource policy plans, stewardship contracting, and stewardship agreements.
The study was finalized in late August 2016 and presented to the Select Federal Natural Resource Management Committee in November 2016.
