Y2 Consultants is a woman-owned small business specializing in engineering, land surveying, GIS, and natural resources management. Our founders, Brenda Younkin and Zia Yasrobi, have more than 50 years of experience in their respective fields. Y2 was founded in 2010, and by 2020 had acquired two additional reputable consultant firms, Pierson Landworks of Jackson, and Western Research and Development of Cheyenne. These acquisitions built a multidisciplinary team of technical consultants well-able to design, define, and deliver for our clients throughout the Rocky Mountain West. Whether you need engineering or natural resources services, we will find a collaborative, efficient way to complete your project to meet your needs.
Y2 offers civil, structural, geotechnical, and environmental engineering services in Wyoming, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, Colorado, Nebraska, Oregon, Washington, New York, and Florida. Zia Yasrobi holds a Class A General Contractor license in the Town of Jackson. We handle every project – whether small remodel or a multimillion dollar redevelopment – with the same degree of attention and professionalism. Y2 also provides construction management services.
Our philosophy is simple: we treat you with the importance and respect you deserve. We know there are many options for service providers in our community. That is why we are so pleased that our clients are our best source for new projects — our business comes almost exclusively from return clients and their referrals.
As long-time members of the Jackson Hole community, we have a vested interest in completing your project on time, on budget, and in a cost-effective manner. We have had the pleasure of working with a number of outstanding architectural firms, real estate professionals, and private property owners throughout the region.
Y2’s Natural Resources services can inform your rangeland management needs. We offer rangeland inventory services to support the term grazing permit renewal process, including upland and riparian vegetation monitoring, development of the Standards and Guidelines for Rangeland Health, Environmental Assessment review or development, and litigation support. Our cooperative approach allows federal land management agencies to accept data collected by Y2 as their own which increases the likelihood of the renewal of the term grazing permit. We can also work with existing datasets to move through the permit renewal process.
For more than 25 years our land surveys have provided the foundation for creative and sound designs. Our experienced survey staff provide outstanding value to our clients, utilizing state of the art equipment including: Trimble GPS and Total Stations, AutoCAD-based Carlson and Civil 3D, and up-to-date aerial photography.
Our land planning services feature collaborative, community-oriented planning solutions that respond to our clients’ needs and visions. With services that range from siting individual homes, designing urban redevelopment and infill projects, to planning large-scale subdivisions, our simple goal is to listen: listen to the client in order to appropriately define the project, listen to the site in order to achieve the best site specific design, and listen to the community to ensure that we deliver approvals and results. By doing so our clients’ goals are achieved and the site and community are enriched.
Y2 specializes in the latest Geographic Information System (GIS) and digital Cartographic technology to produce high-quality digital and printed maps that enhance our clients’ projects. We apply our experience to define, design and deliver outstanding graphic solutions. Our capabilities include a wide array of spatial analysis and graphic tools including land use/land cover mapping, 3D terrain modeling, color digital aerial photography overlay and base mapping, graphic rendering and sun/shade analyses. With today’s desktop computing power combined with the ever-increasing availability of digital spatial information, Y2 is able to provide creative solutions to the most demanding projects.
