Project Description

Cheyenne, WY — 2020

Under a TAP grant from WYDOT, Western completed 100% design for two non-motorized trails totaling 2.1 miles in length. The proposed 0.6-mile Avenues Connector Trail will complete a 10’ wide by 6” thick concrete urban bike/pedestrian shortcut around Cheyenne Airport. The 1.5-mile-long CB&Q Rail Trail includes trailhead parking, street furniture, and interpretive signage for the historic rails and rail bed. The ADA compliant soft-surface trail design will accommodate bicycles, wheelchairs, and equestrians through use of “Stabilizer”™ brand polymer binder to ensure the crusher fines trail will hold up to use by horses.
