Wild Horse Facility

The Y2 team provided comprehensive civil engineering design services for this project in partnership with Spur Construction, LLC as a design-build team. Y2 provided the design of the building, electrical systems, and site design. The mechanical design and roof designs were completed by subconsultants. The final site design included parking, drainage, grading, gas, water service, and a septic system.

A second phase of the project included rerouting a waterline after it was discovered that the building was sited over the existing line. There were insufficient records, and it was believed that the waterline was in a separate location prior to construction. We worked closety with the WDEQ to posthumously permit the rest of the water system because it was originally built without being permitted. Our work included modeling the water distribution system, replacing meters and backflow prevention devices, and obtaining authorization from the local Fire District for reduced fire flows.
